My childhood memories are also peppered with thoughts of "thunk" coming from the large, glass windows in the family room, and then, alas, discovering the poor injured or deceased bird laying outside at the bottom of the large plate glass windows!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206120578266217391.post-40608854565616275672009-10-05T22:24:41.972-04:002009-10-05T22:24:41.972-04:00I think birds live much more in the moment. Evolution has brought them far enough to recognize potential danger in a few floating feathers, but I'll bet they're smart enough to see another path to where they want to go that avoids the perceived danger, and that new path just becomes the way to go. I can imagine those couple of windows would be like potholes, or commuter traffic – you learn to avoid them and still get where you want to go.we'll see – these birds know we run a good restaurant up here – I think they'll remain patrons!Gina Federicohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08384227711870657173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206120578266217391.post-57759887992764023252009-10-05T07:22:57.328-04:002009-10-05T07:22:57.328-04:00Wouldn't the swirling bird feathers risk scari...Wouldn't the swirling bird feathers risk scaring away the birds permanently?

If I thought somebody was killing all my friends right outside your house, I wouldn't be going anywhere near the modernhome! :)grovernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206120578266217391.post-29574930497399059582009-10-02T12:34:46.958-04:002009-10-02T12:34:46.958-04:00I certainly considered it, but didn't want to ...I certainly considered it, but didn't want to gross-out our readers...Gina Federicohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08384227711870657173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206120578266217391.post-9827305603438723262009-10-02T12:33:17.546-04:002009-10-02T12:33:17.546-04:00I thought maybe you'd line up the dead birds t...I thought maybe you'd line up the dead birds that I've saved in our freezer and photograph them to illustrate this post.TAnoreply@blogger.com
